Tension fabric backdrop or pull-up banner?
Choose a tension fabric backdrop when you need a broad branded background behind a booth or photo area. Consider a pull-up banner when you need a separate upright message, such as a welcome sign or product introduction.
They are two different display systems
Our tension fabric backdrop uses a fitted stretch-fabric sleeve over a reusable aluminium frame. The frame clicks together, the print fits over it, and stabilising feet support the assembled display. It is not a retractable roll-up banner.
A conventional pull-up banner stores its print in a base cassette. You extend the print upwards and secure it to a support pole, then retract it for packing. Supplier examples vary: ACCEA Singapore’s pull-up stands describe this retractable mechanism and list 600mm and 850mm-wide formats. Those are examples from that supplier, not universal limits for the category.
Our standard backdrop widths are 2m, 3m and 4m, each 2m high. Custom dimensions can be discussed separately; see the size guide for the details we need. The first decision is the job you want the display to do. A large background and a small sign can both be useful in the same event, but one does not automatically replace the other.
Match the format to the viewing position
A background behind the booth
A broad fabric display gives you room to place a brand mark above furniture and spread a design across the back of your space. Check which part visitors can see from the aisle after shelves, products and people are in position.
In our Nail Deck project, the pink branded print sits behind shelving and an activity table. The that’s neat project shows a large mark above a retail display. These real layouts are useful references for artwork placement.
A message at a specific point
A separate upright banner can suit a registration point, entrance or side of a display where you want visitors to read one message. Check the chosen model’s dimensions and position it where the print is visible without blocking a walkway.
It may be the more suitable format when you do not need to cover the back of a booth. CGB supplies tension fabric backdrops; we do not sell the pull-up banners described here.
Check space and packing before choosing
A display’s printed width and height do not tell you its complete floor footprint. Allow space for a backdrop’s stabilising feet or a banner’s base, along with the people and furniture around it. Obtain the actual model dimensions before assuming either option will fit a tight booth.
For our backdrops, ask us to confirm packed dimensions and weight for your selected size if you are planning transport or storage. For a pull-up banner, check the packed case and base dimensions with its supplier. We have not carried out a side-by-side weight or setup-time test, so this guide does not rank the formats on those measures.
Our booth-fit guide gives you a measurement checklist. Venue height, access and certification requirements still apply regardless of the format. Our backdrops are intended for indoor use; confirm any required certification before ordering.
Design for what remains visible
For a backdrop behind a table, mark the furniture height on your artwork preview. Put the brand name and essential message in a visible area. A paragraph of small copy behind products is unlikely to serve the same purpose as a clear brand mark.
For a separate banner, decide what a person should understand first: who you are, what the offer is, or where to go next. Keep the reading order clear, and check the supplier’s template for parts of the print hidden by the base or fittings. Do not reuse a backdrop file unchanged for a different display shape.
Request the correct template before making the final file. Our artwork guide covers the CGB file-check and digital mockup process; specifications from a pull-up supplier should not be treated as our printing requirements.
Compare the full purchase and the required date
Our single-sided complete sets cost S$299, S$399 and S$549 for the 2m, 3m and 4m widths. They include the single-sided print, frame, feet, carry bag and artwork file check. Double-sided printing is also available by enquiry and quoted separately. Singapore delivery adds S$30 per order; collection is free by appointment. See the pricing guide for worked totals and quote questions.
Ask a pull-up supplier what its own quote includes, particularly the print, base, case, design work, delivery and any applicable taxes. Do not assume an advertised print-only price is a complete display price, or that different suppliers promise the same turnaround.
For CGB, allow 5 weeks from receipt of full payment and approved artwork to delivery/collection. Use the required delivery or collection date, including any earlier setup, when planning. New custom orders needed in fewer than five weeks normally cannot be accepted; any exception needs an individual feasibility check and explicit confirmation.
A practical way to decide
- Draw the display in place. Include the table, shelves and access routes, then check usable dimensions.
- Choose the main job. A branded background, a welcome message and product information may need different placements.
- Confirm the complete cost and handover date. Include artwork preparation and approval before committing.
If a broad branded background suits your plan, send us your booth layout, event date and required handover date. We can confirm the CGB size and arrangements before payment.
